----The
DAMNED
trade paperback shipped September 24th from Cyberosia
Publishing. DAMNED
was originally a 1997 four-issue limited series from the Homage
Comics line by Steven
Grant writer, Mike
Zeck penciler, Denis
Rodier inker and Kurt
Goldzung colorist. ----I've
rendered a new cover painting on computer... ----DAMNED
TPB cover and have drawn, inked, lettered, and colored a six page
epilogue sequence for the trade paperback edition. ----Epilogue
sample panels ----The
TPB will also contain a 'special features' section with some
background material on the original series. I've laid the
bonus pages out as double page spreads. Four of those spreads
will contain art created for the original comics covers. Click

contain a two-part story. I've created the cover art for issue
20 (shipped in early August), and the cover art as well as
penciling the interior for issue 21 (shipped last week of
August). ----John

----When the issue 20 and 21
covers are place together, they'll create one scene, so I'm
creating the art for both at the same time, and rendering
it on the same board. Cobra Commander's
son, Billy,
is involved in the plot line, and will now be upgrading to
a more military oriented costume. My first step was to render
a quick turnaround to establish his newer look. ----Billy
turnaround art ----Next
step was a loose sketch for editorial approval. (Left half
would be cover 20; right half - cover 21) ----Covers
20/21 sketch ----The
consensus at Devil's
Due
was that Billy
should move to Snake
Eyes'
side, and Cobra
Commander
should be added to the Stormshadow
side. That meant that Kamakura
would be deleted, but it made for a better "good vs.
evil" scenario when the art was combined. I created the
next prelims on separate sheets; the cover 20 figures on one... ----Cover
20 prelim
and the cover 21 figures on another... ----Cover
21 prelim ----For
the final prelim, I was able to move and/or alter the figures
as I saw fit. I also added the flying, high-tech debris among
the clashing figures. ----Covers
